Find the Charity

In a group of people solicited by charity 25% contribute Rs 20, 45% contributed Rs 10 and the rest contributed Rs 5. If the charity received a total of RS 750 from those who contributed Rs 5, how much did they receive in total from those solicited?

    Rs 750 from those who contributed Rs 5.

    Therefore no. of persons who gave RS 5=750/5=150

    25% gave Rs 20,45% gave Rs 10
    so 30% gave Rs 5

    Let total persons be x so 30% of x=150
    Total persons = 150*100/30=500

    25% of 500 gave RS 20=125 persons
    Amount received=2500(125 * 20)

    45% of 500 gave Rs 10=225 persons
    Amount received=2250

    Total Amount=2250+2500=4750 received from solicited
